Who We Are

Avasar Nepal (AN) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in Kathmandu, Nepal, with a mission to empower marginalized communities, particularly adolescent girls in remote villages. The name “Avasar” means “Opportunity” in Nepali, reflecting the organization’s core purpose of creating opportunities through education.

Established in 2021 under the Nepal Government Act 2034, Avasar Nepal is officially registered with the Kathmandu District Administration Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council. The organization was founded to promote the living standards of women from marginalized communities by ensuring their rights to equal access to resources, economic opportunities, and awareness of their contribution to national development through education.

Avasar Nepal recognizes the significance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering individuals, especially young girls in remote areas who often face barriers to education due to socio-economic and cultural factors. By providing educational opportunities and support, the organization strives to equip these girls with the knowledge and skills necessary to become self-sufficient and actively participate in their communities’ development.

Through its initiatives, Avasar Nepal endeavors to create a sustainable and inclusive environment where marginalized communities can thrive. The organization’s efforts are focused on fostering gender equality, promoting economic empowerment, and raising awareness about the importance of education in achieving long-term social and economic progress.

Avasar Nepal collaborates with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to implement its programs effectively and ensure their long-term sustainability. By investing in the education and empowerment of marginalized groups, particularly adolescent girls, the organization aims to contribute to the overall development of Nepal and create a more equitable society.
